I shied away from it because I helped write it -- although I did try to step away from my formal writing voice for this review. I'm always thinking, "Does it sound professional?" Especially for a random person that stumbles across this review and might be interested...

Now THAT'S trivia -- I'm on "Ruins" on my iPod, and now I can't wait to listen again. How did I miss that???

(Oh, I posted an early, unfinished version of the review and just edited it a while ago. Did you read the part about "Winning You Over"? If you did, then you read the final review.)

Don't you ever write negative reviews?

Just kidding- glad you're enjoying the album.

One track I'm surprised you left out is probably my favorite: "Tuning In". Not only is this a great collaboration, but it has an infectious chorus, amazing backing vocals by you, Mike, and me, and has that cool repeating Brian Wilson-esque ending.

Little known trivia: notice how "Tuning In" kind of sounds like a closing track. Then, there's a five second pause (look at your CD player) before the next track. The next track, "A Night Away", starts with the band (coincidence?) tuning up and getting ready. It's a clear split from "Side A" and "Side B".

I'm sure there's much more to discover on subsequent listens- let's hope Dylan's album takes a while to get here.
