Hi,
I am learning how to play guitar and was wondering if you would mind sending me the strum pattern used for The Pretenders song, The Last Ride.
I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks!
Mike…

Hi Mike,
I’m glad you stopped by the blog. Unfortunately, I don’t really know how to transcribe the strum pattern — I tend to sit in front of the song and play along until I find a style that works, then I try playing it on my own.
This is the only set of chords I’ve posted on this site that don’t have the lyrics as well, so you might write in the words and see where the changes fall. That might help you to determine the best strum pattern.
I’m sorry I couldn’t be more help. I hope you enjoy playing this song as much as I did!

it’s kinda like playing back on the Chain Gang by the Pretenders.

You know, I haven’t learned how to play “Back on the Chain Gang,” but I’ve loved that song ever since I heard it on a “best of the eighties” compilation CD. Maybe it’s time for me to learn…
