“Bridge Song” (Dishwalla Acoustic Cover) – The Laptop Sessions
Thursday, June 4th, 2009
By Jeff:
Welcome to Thumpin’ Thursday – another busy day in the life of Jeff. But thankfully that busy-ness includes the posting of another video.
Today’s song is by the obscure band “Dishwalla”, and I shall be throwing my two cents into the ring from some obscure songs that I have lined up.
They’re only known by true fans as well, and this one fits that description.
The song is called “Bridge Song” and it’s from their album “And you think you know what life’s about”. This album is not as well known, and did not sell nearly the same amount of copies as “Pet Your Friends” did.
This cover has more of a personal touch to it because I did not stick to the same structure that exists in the recording. Again, you’d have to know the song to know what I did differently.
I’m also experimenting with slightly different camera angles. This is because I continue to receive comments about my voice being “boomy” in the condenser microphone in the camera. So i’m trying to sing off to the side to see if that helps things. Tonight I did have graduation so I was a bit tired. I wouldn’t say this is my best performance by any means.
But still, please enjoy the song. I’ll be back next week for another tune from the depths of obscurity!

One of the most frustrating nights of my life
Thursday, June 4th, 2009
Hello, all. Tonight stunk.
I was so tired after three nights of no sleep. So, after a nice dinner out with my parents and Becky, I had to sleep.
But then, I woke up in a daze to a certain person who just has a knack of getting on my nerves lately.
But, I got over it because I got my (third) new camera today- the Logitech Quickcam Vision Pro.
Then, I came to the realization that, no, even this $100 webcam will not do high definition with QuickTime. I wanted to scream.
Follow that with a lovely four email set from the freelance job that’s giving me all this trouble. I lost it. I wrote and said I don’t want to do it anymore, but naturally, I’m sure I’ll be doing more with it again next week.
Add to that a trip by my bro Mike to finally do more work on his yearlong overdue website. Of course, nothing worked, a really complicated Flash file is somehow missing, and I’m more frustrated than ever.
And, as if all that wasn’t enough, that certain someone decided to fall asleep with Pearl Jam playing at a loud level (especially when you’re trying to sleep) and attempts in the past to ask (however nicely) to turn it down were greeted with disgust.
I’m sorry there’s no new video this week. I’ll be back with standard-def Tuesday next go-around.
